1.
Remove the screws (F1) and the cover from the exhaust silencer (F2).
2.
Remove the screw (F3) and the grille from the exhaust silencer (F4).
3.
Remove the spark arrester (F5).
4.
Using a metal brush, carefully remove the deposits on the exhaust silencer grille and spark arrester.
5.
Check the condition of the spark arrester and the exhaust silencer grille. Replace them if they are damaged.

5.3.5
Cleaning the generating set
To ensure it continues to run correctly, the unit must be cleaned regularly. If the unit is installed inside, always check that the
installation is clean and in good condition. If the unit is being used outside (building sites, dusty, muddy or densely wooded areas,
corrosive environment, etc.), it must be cleaned more frequently.
Use of water sprays or high pressure cleaning equipment is prohibited as this may seriously damage the unit.
1.
Use a brush to gently clean the engine air intakes and outlets and, if present, the spark arrestor.
2.
Using a damp sponge, clean the outside of the unit and dry it with a dry cloth.
3.
Check that the unit is in a good general condition (no leaks, bolts, fittings, hoses tightened, etc.)
4.
Replace any defective parts if necessary.
Only use original parts and consult an agent if necessary.
6.1
Transport and handling conditions
The unit should be handled gently and sudden movements should be avoided. Ensure that the place where it is to be stored or
used is carefully prepared beforehand. Before any fixed installation on a trailer or inside a vehicle, consult one of our approved
agents.
Before transporting the unit, take the following necessary precautions:
1.
Check that the routes to be used are smooth and drivable. If it proves necessary to use uneven roads, drain the fuel into a
container before setting off.
2.
Check that the bolts are correctly tightened, close the fuel tap (if fitted) and disconnect the battery (if fitted).
3.
The unit should always be transported in its normal operating position; never lay it on its side. Ensure that the unit cannot
fall from the vehicle carrying it, but without exerting too much force (risk of damaging the unit).
6.2
Storage conditions
Drain the fuel:
1.
Set the switch (A10) to
2.
Unscrew the fuel tank cap (A5) and remove the screen filter (A6-C1)
3.
Equipped with a suitable container, use a manual siphon pump to recover the fuel from the tank.
4.
Put the screen filter back inside the tank and screw the cap back onto the fuel tank.
5.
Start the generating set (see § Starting the generating set) and leave it running until it runs out of fuel.
6.
Set the switch to
7.
Turn the fuel tap and the air vent to OFF.
8.
Remove the screws (A17) and the side enclosure (A18), then place a suitable container at the fuel drain pipe outlet (C2).
9.
Loosen the fuel drain screw (C3) and allow the fuel to flow into the container.
10. Tighten the fuel drain screw once the fuel has been drained.
Lubricate the cylinders and the valves:
11. Remove the spark plug (A19-E1) (see § Checking the spark plug) and pour approximately a teaspoon of engine oil into the
spark plug opening before refitting the spark plug.
12. Refit the side enclosure by retightening it and its screws.
13. Pull the starter-recoil handle several times (A12) to distribute the oil.
Store the generating set:
14. Clean the outside of the generating set with a cloth and apply an anti-rust product to the damaged areas.
15. Cover the generating set with a protective cover and store it vertically in a clean, dry and well-ventilated place.
This procedure for storing the generating set or protecting it over the winter must be respected if the generating set is not used for a
limited period of 1 year. For longer periods of storage, it is recommended to contact your nearest agent or to start up the generating
set for a few hours every year, and respect the storage procedure after doing so.
