Operating Instructions SATA FDG
■ Insert taper pin into agitator shaft cross member.
■ Mount the snap ring.
■ Slide the agitator blade onto the agitator shaft.
■ Tighten the hexagon nut at the bottom of the stirring blade.
■ Mount the cover with pneumatic / electric agitator with gear on the mate-
rial pressure tank.
■ Close the material pressure tank (see chapter 10.4).
11.6. Replace gland packing, O-ring and brass bushing
SATA paint set 10 and SATA FDG 24 / 48 with manual agitator
Disassembly:
■ Open the material pressure tank (see chapter 10.4).
■ Remove the cover with manual agitator.
■ Remove the crank handle from the agitator shaft.
■ Loosen the threaded pin in the upper adjusting ring.
■ Pull the upper collet from the agitator shaft.
■ Unscrew the stuffing box.
■ Remove O-ring from stuffing box.
■ Pull the agitator shaft down out of the hub.
SATA FDG 24 / 48 only
■ The washer can remain on the agitator shaft.
■ Remove the gland packing from the hub.
■ If necessary, push the brass bearing bush upwards out of the hub.
Assembly:
Damage from unsuitable tools
Unsuitable tools can damage the brass bushing during assembly.
→ Insert the brass bushing carefully, using a special tool.
■ If necessary, insert brass bearing bush in hub.
■ Push the agitator shaft into the hub from below.
■ Insert O-ring into stuffing box.
■ Wrap three graphite cords around the agitator shaft and press them into
the hub.
■ Screw the gland in so that the agitator shaft can be turned by hand
without applying force.
■ Push the upper adjusting ring onto the agitator shaft.
■ Tighten the threaded pin in the upper adjusting ring.
