Accuracy Check of the Measuring Tool
Apart from exterior influences, device-specific influ-
ences (such as heavy impact or falling down) can lead
to deviations. Therefore, check the accuracy of the
measuring tool each time before starting your work.
Checking the Horizontal Accuracy
(see figures B–D)
– Choose two walls approx. 5 m apart from each
other.
– Set up the measuring tool at a distance of approx.
30 cm from wall B.
– Switch the horizontal and vertical lines on.
– Project the laser cross against wall A. Mark point
.

– Rotate the measuring tool by 180° and project the
laser cross against wall B. Mark point b
– Move the measuring tool until it is 0.3 m from point

– Measure the height difference between the
marked points on both walls (a
= b
).

difference will be „0", but should not be higher
than half of the accuracy value specified.
– Turn the measuring tool 90° and mark laser cross
point c
on the wall further away. Note down the

clearance between b
should not be higher than half of the accuracy
value specified.
Checking the Vertical Accuracy (see figure E)
– Set up the measuring tool 5 m away from a wall.
– Hang a plumb bob to the wall with a rope length of
at least 2 m.
– Switch the vertical lines on.
– Precisely align one of the vertical lines to the
plumb bob rope.
– Measure the difference D4. The clearance should
not be higher than half of the accuracy value spec-
ified.
– Rotate the measuring tool by 90°. Repeat the last
three steps to check the other vertical line.
90° Angular Accuracy of the Vertical Lines
(see figure F)
– Set up the measuring tool in the corner of a room
with side lengths of at least 3.50 m and 4.50 m.
– Switch the vertical lines on.
– Measure exactly 3 m from the plumb point of the
measuring tool alongside the vertical laser line and
mark point A on the floor.

– Measure exactly 4 m from the plumb point of the
measuring tool alongside the second vertical laser
line and mark point B on the floor.
– Now measure the clearance from point A to B.
Clearance C must be at least 5 m. The maximum
difference for this measurement should be
± 0.4 mm.
Downward Accuracy of the Plumb Beam
(see figure G)
– Mount the measuring tool on a tripod (accessory).
Make sure that the tool is 1.2 m away from the
floor.
– Switch the downward plumb point on and mark
point a
.

– Rotate the measuring tool by 180° and mark point

.
2
– Points a
and a
should approximately overlap.

Note: The measuring tool is factory-calibrated and
requires no further calibration. Should calibration of
the measuring tool be necessary, please refer to your
dealer or an authorised service agent for Bosch
power tools.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Keep the measuring tool clean at all times.
Do not immerse the measuring tool in water or other
fluids.
Wipe away debris or contamination with a dry, soft
cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
Regularly clean the surfaces at the exit opening of the
laser in particular, and pay attention to any fluff of
fibres.
If the measuring tool should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an authorised after-sales
service centre for Bosch power tools. Do not open the
measuring tool yourself.
