3M™ PELTOR™ Tactical Earplug
The 3M PELTOR Tactical Earplug is a
TM TM
hearing protection device that helps provide the
wearer with environmental listening capabilities.
Read these instructions carefully before use
and save them for future reference.

2. FITTING AND ADJUSTMENT
Eartips should be clean and in good condition
and the earplug should be powered off prior
to use.
1. Ensure that the eartips have been properly
selected (e.g. proper size and style).
2. Hold the tactical earplug with the eartip
attached as shown in Figure E:4.
3. Insert rounded eartip into ear canal while pull-
ing the ear outward and upward with opposite
hand (Figure E:5).
4. Rotate the tactical earplug toward the back of
the head (Figure E:6).
5. With the tactical earplug powered off, check
to ensure you have a good eartip fit. Pull the
earplug gently. It should not come out of the ear
easily. If it does, repeat fitting process.
Listen to steady loud noise with eartips in both
ears. The noise should sound softer. Cover
ears with tightly cupped hands. Noise should
sound about the same whether or not ears are
covered. If you cannot obtain a good fit, try a
different type or size of eartip.
Note! For greater comfort and safety when
using the three-flange UltraFit eartips, remove
the eartip slowly with twisting motion to
gradually break the seal.

3. USAGE/FUNCTIONS
Do not insert the earplug (A:4) directly into the
ear without a correctly attached 3M PELTOR
eartip.
3:1 Attaching optional retention cord and
eartips
Place one end of the retention cord onto the
eartip stem (A:4) (Figure E:1). Push eartips
(A:5) onto the eartip stem (A:4) (Figure E:2).
Fully seat the eartip at the base of the eartip
stem (Figure E:3).
3:2 Charging
The tactical earplugs should be charged before
first use. Tactical earplugs can be recharged
inside the charging case using 3 AA batteries
or Micro B USB cord (not provided). Charging
takes approximately 90 minutes, regardless of
charging method.
