2. Safety
2.3.11 Commissioning
All applications
Check operability of the switching function of the differential pressure gauge
DPGS40TA.100-xxS during commissioning and at reasonable intervals. Both the
nature of the testing as well as the chosen intervals are the responsibility of the
user.
Additional note for applications with low demand rate
The interval for the proof test usually conforms to the PFD
in the standard. Normally the proof test takes place every year, see
certificate 968/V 1169.01/21.
2.3.12 Proof test of the safety function
Through a test of the entire safety function, check whether the switch is operating
correctly.
2.3.13 Information on the determination of safety-relevant parameters
The failure rates of the instruments were determined through the use of statis-
tical methods in accordance with IEC 61508 on the basis of a type test for the
DPGS40TA.100-xxS.
The instrument is designed for applications with low or high demand rates.
WARNING!
The maximum operating life of a safety-related system is 5 years,
plus a 1.5 year reserve. Any longer operating life is the responsibility
of the operator.
2.3.14 Instrument-specific safety-related parameters
The safety-related parameters for the operation in safety integrated systems in
accordance with IEC 61508 , IEC 61511 and ISO 13849 are to be taken from the
certificate 968/V 1169.01/21, see Annex 2 of these operating instructions.
2.3.15 Decommissioning the instrument
WARNING!
Ensure instruments that have been taken out of service are not
accidentally recommissioned (e.g. through marking the instrument).
After replacing the instrument, carry out a function test of the entire
safety function (safety loop) to check whether the safety function
of the system is still guaranteed. Function tests are intended to
demonstrate the correct function of the whole safety-related sys-
tem, including all instruments (sensor, logic unit, actuator).
