INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before and after each application, the components of the product must be carefully
cleaned following the instructions in the paragraph HYGIENIC PREPARATION.
PEP therapy
In PEP therapy, the expiratory resistance during expiration varies according to the different
sizes of the holes in the ring nut (7) to which numbers ranging from 1 to 5 are associated,
the number 1 (small hole) corresponds to a higher expiratory resistance, instead the lowest
corresponds to number 5 (large hole). The increase in expiratory resistance has the effect of
stabilizing the airways and stimulating the dissolution of the mucus.
The size of the hole must be determined individually for each patient by professional
medical personnel.
USING THE DEVICE IN PEP MODE
Preparation for therapy
Turn the PEP cap (9) to the symbol
Make sure that the valve (5) is well assembled on the valve cap (4) and adheres perfectly to
the internal surface of the cap (fig. 2).
Fig. 1
Regulation of expiratory resistance
Lift the ring nut (7) and rotate it until the desired hole is aligned with the indicator
module (6) (fig. 3).
Push the ring nut (7) downwards making sure that it fits correctly in the position key on the
PEP module (6).
Turn the PEP Cap (9) clockwise until the position dot matches the symbol
Carrying out the treatment
Proceed as follows to carry out the treatment:
- Before starting the treatment, make sure that all parts are firmly connected to each other.
- Make sure that the expiratory resistance is adjusted correctly (see: Regulation of expiratory
resistance).
- If the breathing resistance seems too high or too low during a therapy session, stop the
session and consult your doctor or therapist.
- Plug the nose with the supplied clip (11).
