NOTE: You must first detach the faceseal from the suspension headband. Re-attach faceseal before use.

– Fig. 10a shows the pivot kit. From the top down, the outer most pivot part is the post (1), the next part is the
"back plate" (2), and the bottom part in Fig. 10a is the "metal spring clip" (3).
– With the headgear upside down and the inner shield in the raised (open) position, pull the metal spring
towards the inside of headgear until they touch the back plate, and then pull down and out to remove. Use a
tool if necessary. Remove inner shield from 9100 MP headgear (Fig. 10b).
o If replacing the pivot kit, remove outer most pivot part from the inner shield.
o If replacing pivot kit, push back plate out from shell slightly (towards outside of headgear) and slide
out from slot on headgear shell to remove. Use a tool if necessary (Fig. 10c).
– To re-install the inner shield and pivot kit, insert the outer most pivot part into the inner shield, assuring that
the keyed slot is aligned and the outer most pivot part is flush.
– Install back plate into the headgear shell. When installing the "wind mill" pattern should be facing outwards
and the "M-960" marking will be located on the bottom of the plate. Install rounded edge first and slide
completely into the slot (Fig. 10d). Gently push down on back plate to ensure it is flush to bottom of slot.
– Line up visor frame over attachment slots and slide metal spring clip back into place, ensuring that the "lip"
on the metal spring clip faces toward the outside of the headgear. With the post and back plate engaged, the
visor frame should be in the fully open or fully closed position before the spring is installed (Fig. 10e).
– Verify the visor frame and pivot kit is correctly installed by raising and lowering the visor several times.
Ensure the visor stays firmly in the up (open) and down (closed) positions.
