5. Confirm operation.
In a safe location, drive your car at a speed of 5 kph (about 3 mph) or less. If the sensor
unit is operating correctly, it will transmit a car speed pulse to the navigation unit. Look at
the monitor display to confirm that the sensor unit is operating correctly. (To confirm oper-
ation, refer to the operation manual for the navigation unit.)
• You can also confirm sensor unit operation with the SPEED PULSE INDICATOR on
the top of the unit. When the unit is outputting a car speed pulse, the indicator flashes
red.
If sensor unit operation is unstable:
• If car speed pulse output is unstable, change the location of the sensor unit slightly, and repeat pro-
cedures from step 3.
• If unstable operation continues even after changing the location of the sensor unit, magnetize the
tire once more.
6. Return the sensor unit's output switch to the USE position.
Confirm operation, and when you have decided on the installation location for the sensor
unit, set the output switch to the USE position.
7. Install the sensor unit in the selected location and secure.
(Refer to "Installation" on page 13.)
