Running-in
Maximum motorcycle speed
For a new motorcycle, during the initial running-in
driving period of 1500km, do not make the engine
run at a speed exceeding the maximum speed for
the running-in period, do not accelerate or turn or
brake suddenly, and do not make the speed in any
gear position exceed 80% of its maximum RPM; do
not operate with a throttle fully opened.
Engine speed change
The engine speed should not be kept fixed, but
should be changed from time to time, which helps
the running-in of parts.
During running-in, apply appropriate stress to all
parts of the engine to ensure a complete fit, but do
not impose excessive load on the engine.
Avoiding running at a constantly low speed
Running the engine at a constantly low speed (light
load) will cause excessive worn parts and poor run-
ning-in. As long as the recommended maximum
speed limit is not exceeded, engage each gear posi-
tion to accelerate the engine, but do not drive the
motorcycle at full throttle during the running-in
period.
The following table shows the maximum engine
speed during the running-in period.
Initial 800 km
Up to 1500 km
Over 1500 km
Before driving, circulate the engine oil first
Before riding the motorcycle in high temperature
state after the engine is running or in low tempera-
ture state, keep the engine idling sufficiently to allow
the engine oil to flow to all the lubricating parts.
Routine initial maintenance inspection
The maintenance of the initial 1000km is the most
important for a motorcycle. During such mainte-
nance, all adjustments must be made, and all fas-
teners must be tightened, as well as the dirty engine
oil must be replaced. The maintenance of the initial
1000km carried out in time will ensure long engine
service life and good performance.
