7. If the weather is cold, keep the product indoors
before use to warm up the propane tank. You can
also use a propane tank heat blanket to warm up the
propane tank.

To do a check of the oil level

CAUTION: A too low oil level can do
damage to the engine. Do a check of the oil
level before you start the product.
1. Put the product on level ground.
2. Remove the oil tank cap with the attached dipstick.
3. Clean the oil from the dipstick.
4. Put back the dipstick and put the cap on top of the
tube. Do not tighten it.
5. Remove the dipstick.
6. Examine the oil level on the dipstick.
7. If the oil level is low, fill with engine oil and do a
check of the oil level again.

To replace the engine oil

If the engine is cold, start the engine for 1–2 minutes
before you drain the engine oil. This makes the engine
oil warm and easier to drain.
WARNING: Do not operate the engine for
more than 1–2 minutes before you drain the
engine oil. The engine oil becomes very hot
and can cause burn injuries. Let the engine
become cool down before you drain the
engine oil.
WARNING: If you spill engine oil on your
body, clean with soap and water.
1. Put a container below the oil drain hose.
2. Remove the oil drain hose from the plastic clip and
remove the oil drain plug.
3. Drain the oil into the container.
4. Attach the oil drain plug and tighten it.

5. Install the oil drain hose in the plastic clip.
6. Fill with new oil. Refer to
29 .
7. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed for 3
minutes.
8. Stop the engine and make sure that the oil drain plug
does not leak.
9. Do a check of the oil level. Refer to
the oil level on page 23 .
Note: For safe disposal of used engine oil, refer to
Disposal on page 28 .

To replace the oil filter

1. Drain the engine oil, refer to
oil on page 23 .
2. Turn the oil filter counterclockwise to remove it.
3. Lightly lubricate the rubber seal on the new oil filter
with new oil.
4. To attach the oil filter, turn it clockwise until the
rubber seal is in position. Tighten the oil filter ⅔ turn
more.
5. Fill with new oil. Refer to
29 .
6. Start the engine and let it operate at idle speed for 3
minutes.
7. Stop the engine and make sure that the oil filter does
not leak.
8. Do a check of the oil level.

To replace the air filters

CAUTION: Do not operate the product with
the air filters removed.
