Secure them behind the metal fence with
washers and #5 machine nuts.
WARNING
dry run with the saw Off by conducting a

ROUGH CUTTING A DADO
Using a wood chisel and the depth guide, it
is possible to make a rough dado cut. The
marks on the depth guide are to be used for
reference only. Always make a practice cut
on scrap wood.
To use the depth guide:
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Rotate the depth-of-cut stop outward.
With the depth-of-cut bolt touching the depth
stop, turn the depth-of-cut bolt until the
desired depth of cut is attained. Tighten the
depth-of-cut wingnut to secure the depth-of-
cut bolt. See Setting Blade Depth for Non-
Through Cuts for Cutting Grooves.
3. A wooden spacer must be placed between

consistent length of cut in the workpiece.
Use the work clamp to clamp the spacer
and another suitable clamp to clamp
the workpiece. Make the slide cut at the
desired depth.
4. Rotate the depth of cut stop inward for
normal through cuts.
NOTICE: The depth-of-cut stop must be
rotated before locking or unlocking the saw
