10.3 Axon

2 Product Description
2.1 Function
In combination with an Axon-Bus gripping component, e.g. the 8E500 Michelangelo Hand, the
product facilitates fitting with components in the modular Ottobock Axon-Bus prosthesis system.
Pronation/supination of the Axon-Bus gripping component are possible from the neutral position
and are carried out actively.
These functions support the patient during his or her daily activities and provide the highest
rehabilitation value.
The product promotes a physiologically correct body posture and reduces the need for unnatural,
compensating body movements.
The product can only be used in combination with the Axon-Bus system component "13E500
AxonMaster" version 1.4 or higher.
Power is supplied to the product by the battery which comes integrated in the socket.
Control settings for the product can only be carried out when all Axon-Bus components are con
nected. For further information, see the instructions for use provided with the Axon-Bus compon
ents.
To prevent mechanical damage, the coupling (connection between the motor and gripping com
ponent) slips when rotary movement is obstructed.
