Installation and commissioning

1. While unpacking, check the electrode for mechan-
ical damage. Please report any damage immedi-
ately to your METTLER TOLEDO supplier.
2. Remove the protective cap and rinse the electrode
for a short time with Buffer pH = 4.01 / Na
After rinsing, the electrode should only be lightly
dabbed. Any rubbing of the pH or the sodium-sen-
sitive glass can increase the response time as a
result of electrostatic charge.
3. Check the space behind the pH and the sodium
sensitive glass for air bubbles and remove any
air bubbles by shaking the electrode slightly in a
vertical direction.
4. Place the electrode into the housing as described
in the instructions for the housing.
5. Connect the electrode and the pH transmitter with
the corresponding cable (AK9). Observe the con-
nections scheme that accompanies the cable or
the transmitter.

stallation, commissioning and operation of the
ISM system please refer to instructions for the
transmitter, module and cable.

Operation: Calibration of the electrode and
pH transmitter
Before a calibration, immerse the electrode for
10 minutes in a Buffer pH = 7.00 / Na
Buffer pH = 4.01 / Na
connected to the transmitter. A 2-point calibration is
recommended, e.g. Buffer pH = 7.00 / Na
Buffer pH = 4.01 / Na
