The Internet overview shows that some mobile phones only enable the establishment of a
connection in the headset mode. Please note that while using the headset mode you cannot call
submenus of the HFCK. Please select 'pair headset' in the 'Bluetooth' submenu of the HFCK
and then press the green key. The word 'headset' is displayed. Then please try again to pair the
HFCK with your mobile phone.
If this was successful, the telephone name will be shown on the display. It is however no
permanent Bluetooth connection between mobile phone and HFCK active. The connection will
only be re-established in case of an outgoing or incoming call. If you have connected a mobile
phone in the headset profile with the HFCK, you can connect another mobile phone in the
profile "hands-free operation", because no active connection is available on the headset. In this
case, the headset mobile phone cannot accept further calls via the HFCK. In the headset mode
you can establish calls only via the mobile phone.
Please note here the legal situation of the particular country you are visiting. Please verify,
whether it is allowed to use a mobile phone while driving. You can conveniently receive or reject
calls via the green call acceptance key or the red call termination key of the HFCK.
After a restart of the HFCK, it tries first to connect to the profile and to the mobile phone to
which it was connected last.
Disconnect a Bluetooth connection:
If you wish to cancel a Bluetooth connection, you can either disconnect it conveniently at the
hands-free set or at your mobile phone. In addition, the connection is disconnected, if you move
too far away from the vehicle while taking your mobile phone with you and thus leave the
reception radius of the hands-free set.
After 15 minutes without an active Bluetooth connection (stand-by), the hands-free set is
switched-off automatically if it is still supplied with power. This serves to protect the main
battery. If you come back to your vehicle within that period of time you can initiate a manual
interconnection by pressing key 5 for three seconds.
Please note that the capacity of your mobile phone's storage battery can quickly decrease
when the Bluetooth function is active. If you do not want to use the Bluetooth function anymore,
e.g. if you leave the vehicle for a longer period, it is recommended to deactivate this function.
Menu navigations:
Please note that some of the functions/displays specified subsequently are only possible if they
are supported by the mobile phone!
After switching on the hands-free set the main mask appears. It informs you whether a mobile
phone is connected via Bluetooth or not. If yes, its BT identification name appears on the
display. Additionally, the field strength (the reception) is displayed as well as the storage
capacity of the mobile phone and the name of the network operator.

The installation of this system can be carried through by yourself but please
observe the installation requirements of the automotive manufacturer (VAS
1978). During the installation, park the car at a place where the road traffic is not
impaired. We recommend to let a specialized workshop perform the installation.
This system has been designed for the use in vehicles with an on-board supply
system of 12 volts (passenger car). If you intend to install the device in a vehicle
with an on-board supply system of 24 volts (lorry), please use a voltage
converter. If you have queries regarding this subject, please contact our hotline.
Install the components of the device in the vehicle so that your field of vision is not
impaired and the components are not mounted in the impact zone of the
passenger compartment or in the airbag inflation zones. The removal of
coverings (with and without airbags) or components of the dashboard requires
in some cases special tools and special knowledge.
Do not commission the device if you detect or assume a defect. In this case,
contact our hotline. Improper repair efforts can be dangerous for you. Therefore,
only skilled personnel may perform inspections.
We shall not be liable for damages or malfunctions due to improper use of the
navigation system. Therefore, do not expose the device to moisture, extreme
temperatures or shocks and carefully follow the procedure described in the
installation and operating guidelines.
Operate the system only when the situation allows it and when you do not
endanger, harm, constrain, or annoy other road users. The volume of the device
has to be set in a way that exterior noise is still audible.
