7.1.2 Assigning an address to the bus coupler

To identify each bus coupler correctly within the DDL link
structure, a unique address must be set using the S5 rotary
switch.
Addressing can be done in two ways:
W
Manual addressing or
W
Automatic addressing
Manual and automatic addressing are not possible
simultaneously.
Each participant is assigned a permanent address between 1
and 14 (1 to E). The following rules apply when setting the
addresses:
W
No participant may have the address 0.
W
The lowest address must be 1.
W
There must not be any gaps between the addresses.
The addressing is, however, independent of the physical
position and type of the participant in the DDL.
How to set the address manually:
O
Set the appropriate address on the S5 rotary switch.
