SAFETY CHECKS (SC)

The performance of safety checks (SC) is
required by the Ordinance on the Operation
of Medical Devices (MPBetreibV). No SC pur-
suant to the MPBetreibV is performed by the
manufacturer as part of the annual calibration
of the BARD sensor within the scope of the
technical service. The operator is obliged to
perform an SC after this type of maintenance
measure and before start-up.
An annual inspection with the following
scope is recommended:
1. Visual inspection (also refer to the scope
of the visual inspection)
2. Check the functionality based on the
operating manual
3. Check error messages on the display
4. Electrical safety – measurement of
the leakage currents pursuant to IEC
62353:2014
5. Creation of a test report

Scope of the visual inspection:
1. Is the maintenance book available?
2. Do the Reader Unit and the antenna as
well as the antenna cable, power sup-
ply unit and connection points display
mechanical defects?
3. Are all labels complete and legible?
4. Are all housing screws firmly tightened?
5. Is the antenna cable firmly connected to
the reader?
6. Are parts within the housing (reader and
antenna) loose? – carefully shake the
device
7. Are all approved components in place?

TROUBLESHOOTING

If an error occurs, it is shown on the screen.
