Installation may only be performed in a voltage-free and pressure-free state and
only by a qualified technician. Always carry out the installation in a pressure-free
state to avoid dangerous movements.
Destruction of electronic components
Disconnecting plugs while under voltage will destroy the electronic components
of the valve system! Large differences in potential occur when disconnecting
plugs under voltage, which can destroy the valve system's electronic components.
O Make sure the relevant system component is not under voltage before
assembling the valve system or when connecting and disconnecting plugs.
W
Only commission the valve system after it has been fully assembled, including all
tubing connections and correct wiring, and after re-checking all connections for
proper fit.
W
Make sure that there is a sufficient exchange of air or enough cooling if your valve
system has any of the following:
– Full equipment status
– Continuously loaded solenoid valves
W
Exhaust noises in the valve system may reach an unpermitted level. Take
measures to soundproof the system, if necessary.
An address change will not be effective during operation!
The bus coupler will continue to work with the previous address.
W
Never change the address during operation.
W
Disconnect the bus coupler from the power supply UL/UA before changing the
positions of switches.
Malfunctions in the fieldbus communication due to incorrect or insufficient
grounding!
Connected components receive incorrect or no signals.
O Make sure that the ground connections of all valve system components are
linked
- to each other
- and to ground
with electrically conductive connections.
The valve system contains electronic components that are sensitive to
electrostatic discharge (ESD)!
If the electrical components are touched by persons or objects, this may lead to
an electrostatic discharge that could damage or destroy the components of the
valve system.
O Ground the components to prevent electrostatic charging of the valve system.
O Use wrist and shoe grounding straps, if necessary, when working on the valve
system.
Safety instructions for cleaning
O Never use aggressive solvents or detergents.
O Only clean the device using a slightly damp cloth.
O Only use water and, if necessary, a mild detergent.

Assembly
Connecting the pneumatics
Overpressure caused by closed exhaust outputs
Closed exhaust outlets will lead to air congestion and valve damage.
O Never close connection R.
O Ensure that channels 3, 5, and R provide sufficient exhaust.
General instructions
O Fit exhaust air connections that are not connected to an exhaust air line with a
silencer as needed.
O Provide unused connections with blanking plugs.
O Ensure that enough free space is left for the pneumatic tubing so that the
permitted minimum bending radii are adhered to.
O Note that the use of PUR tubing limits the holding force of the tubing in the push-
in connectors.
O For push-in fittings, only use polymer plug accessories from the pneumatics
catalog.
O Fix the pneumatic tubing for compressed air supply near the connection to
ensure it does not bend. Rule of thumb: the first 5 cm before the inlet must be
straight.
O When using plug connectors, also note the information from ISO standard 14743
Pneumatic fluid power – Push-in connectors for thermoplastic tubes.
Connecting the electrical system
Danger of injury!
Electric shock due to incorrect power pack!
O Only use the following power supply for the bus coupler:
24 V DC PELV circuits in accordance with DIN EN 60204-1
O The PELV power source must be a safety isolation transformer in accordance
with IEC 61558-1 or IEC 61558-2-6, or a power source offering the same
degree of safety as a safety isolation transformer.
O Make sure that the power supply of the power pack is always less than
300 V AC (outer cable – neutral wire).
To establish the electrical connection with a bus coupler
1. Ensure that enough free space is left for the electrical connections so that the
permissible minimum bending radii are adhered to.
2. Make the following connections on the bus coupler:
– Fieldbus input X7xx (xx = fieldbus-dependent) (1), integrated M12 socket/plug
– Fieldbus output X7xx (xx = fieldbus-dependent) (2), integrated
M12 socket/plug
– Functional earth connection in accordance with DIN EN 60204-1
3. Connect the power supply for your bus coupler via the integrated M12 plug
(3; male, 4-pin, A-coded) to a suitable power source (24 V DC).
4. Configure the bus coupler using your PLC programming software.
– Use the configuration files on the CD.
– You will find the individual configuration steps in the instructions for the
respective bus coupler on the CD.

Commissioning and Operation

Operating the manual override
Improper operation of the manual override
The manual override is a rotary switch.
O Do NOT press the manual override.
The valve control's functional reliability and method of operation can be checked
before start-up by activating the valve positions using the manual override instead
of the electrical signal. The electrical signal is disabled when the manual override is
used.
Turn and detent (yellow knob)
O Insert a screwdriver blade in the slot of the manual override and turn it from
position 0 to position 1 using slight force until it clicks into place.
The valve switches and remains in the switched position until the manual
override is turned back to position 0.
