4.11 HYDRAULIC OIL___________________________________________________________
Refer to Section 6.3 for specific maintenance intervals.
The hy draulic res ervoir on thi s m achine is fi lled with
Jacobsen Greens Care 68 Biodegradable fluid.
Drain and replace the hydraulic oil after a major component
failure, or if you notice the presence of water or foam in the
oil, or a rancid odor (indicating excessive heat).
Always replace the hydraulic filter when changing oil.
To change hydraulic oil:
1.
Clean the area around the oil cap to prevent impurities
from entering and contaminating the system.
a.
Oil temperature s hould be at 60° to 90°F (16° -
32°C). Do not check oil level when oil is hot.
4.12 HYDRAULIC OIL FILTERS ___________________________________________________
The hydraulic system is protected by two 10 micron filters.
To replace hydraulic oil filter:
1.
Remove the old filters.
2.
Fill new fil ter wi th oil then ins tall new
tighten only.
4.13 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM _____________________________________________________

CAUTION
Always tu rn the ig nition swi tch of f and r emove th e
negative ba ttery cable ( BLACK) before i nspecting or
working on the electrical system.
General precautions tha t c an be taken to reduc e electrical
problems are listed below.
1.
Make c ertain al l terminals and connections are c lean
and properly secured.
2.
Check the operator bac kup s ystem, fu ses, and c ircuit
breakers regularly.
If the operator bac kup do es not func tion properly and
the problem cannot be corrected, contact an authorized
Jacobsen Dealer.
3.
Keep the wire harnes s and all indi vidual wi res away
from moving parts to prevent damage.
4.
Make sure the s eat switch harness is connected to the
main wire harness.
5.
Check the battery and battery charging circuit.
b.
The hy draulic oil level should nev er fall belo w the
lower line on the dipstick or be above the top line on
dipstick.
2.
Remove drai n pl ug from bottom of tank and loosen or
remove br eather c ap on top of t ank. C heck and clean
the breather cap, replace as necessary.
3.
After oi l has drained i nstall drain p lug and fi ll with
Jacobsen GreensCare 68 Biodegradable Fluid.
4.
Purge air from system.
a.
Operate all mower functions for about 5 minutes to
purge ai r out of the system and s tabilize the oi l
level.
b.
Once the level has stabilized and the air is purged,
fill the tank to the full mark on dipstick.
3.
Operate engine at idl e s peed with hy draulic system in
neutral for five minutes.
4.
Check hydraulic oil level in reservoir and fill to full mark
on dipstick.
