4.14 MUFFLER AND EXHAUST __________________________________________________

WARNING
Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide that is toxic and
can be fatal when inhaled.
NEVER operate an engine without proper ventilation.
4.15 TIRES ___________________________________________________________________
1.
Keep tires proper ly i nflated to prolong ti re l ife. Chec k
inflation pressure while the tires are c ool. Inspect tread
wear.
2. Check t he pressure wi th an ac curate, l ow pressure
tire gauge.
3. Keep tires inflated to:
Front: - 10-12 psi (0.69-0.83 BAR).
Rear: - 8-10 psi (0.55-0.69 BAR).

WARNING
Make s ure the mower is p arked on a solid and lev el
surface. Never work on a mower that i s s upported only
by the jack. Always use jack stands.
If only the front or rear of the mower i s r aised, pl ace
chocks i n fr ont of and behind the wheels
raised.
1.
Remove di rt, grease, an d oil from stud thread. Do not
lubricate threads.
2.
Position wheel on hub and i nspect to insure full contact
between mounting s urface of wheel and hub or brak e
drum.
3.
Finger tighten all har dware then torque har dware in
criss-cross order;
always tighten nut s in
position.
4.
Check and r etorque dail y unti l tor que i s maint ained,
85-95 ft.lbs. (115-128 Nm).

To protect from carbon monoxide pois oning, ins pect the
complete ex haust system regul arly and always replac e a
defective muffler.
If you notice a change in the color or sound of the ex haust,
stop the engine immediately. Identify the problem and hav e
the system repaired.
Torque all ex haust manifold hardware ev enly. Tighten or
replace exhaust clamps.
Unless yo u hav e the
experience, DO NOT attempt to mount a tire on a rim.
Improper mou nting c an pr oduce an e xplosion wh ich
may result in serious injury.
