4.6 ADJUSTMENT OF SEED PLANTING DEPTH

So that the seedlings emerge well it is important to place the seed
at the correct depth in the seed bed.
Using the handle (Fig. 423), the working depth of the furrow openers
can be raised (+) or lowered (-) according to the type of ground
to be planted on.
FLEXIBLE FURROW OPENER
The individual degree of penetration of each arm can be adjusted by
loosening the nuts (B, Fig. 424) and turning the screws (A, Fig. 424):
- Surface seed planting (1, Fig. 424);
- Medium depth seed planting (2, Fig. 424);
- Deep seed planting (3, Fig. 424).
FURROW OPENER WITH SPRING AND DISC COULTER «DD»
The end stop of each arm can be adjusted by slackening the nut
(C, Fig. 425) and turning the screw (D, Fig. 425).
This furrow opener has a spring that allows its pressure on the
ground to be adjusted; increase or decrease the pressure by
adjusting of the nut (E, Fig. 425).
We advise setting the furrow openers that work along the
wheel tracks of the seedr and the tractor to a greater depth.
