J-1000™ Audio System iPod Operation
Open front panel (16) and plug a iPod into the iPod Docking Sta-
tion (12) as shown. Refer to step 12 (page 61) for details. The
iPod will begin to play automatically.
Close front panel. The "iPod" symbol will display to indicate a iPod
is connected.
• If you want to enter iPod mode, press the MODE key (4) and
select iPod: the player will start to play the tracks on the iPod.
The display will show:
- the current track, relative playing time or
- will be positioned on the first track of the first file.
Note: DRM (Digital Right Management) files cannot be played
using this system. Personal files (MP3, WMA, iTunes, and
AAC) can be played unless they have been codified using
DRM technology.
Searching files in your iPod
To move to the next track, press the TUNE key (2) upwards
once. The track counter will increase by one track. Once you
reach the last track, it will start to play from track 1 again.
• To move quickly: press and hold the TUNE key (2) upward
until the track counter reaches the number of the track you want
and then release it.
• To scan backwards in the current track: press and hold the
TUNE key (2) downwards. The track will scan backwards until
you release the key.
Note: When you press the TUNE key once, the current track
is restarted. If you press it again you move to the previous track.
iPod Folder Search
• To select a folder: press the AS/PS key (6) to display the con-
tents and the playlists. Use the VOL key (3) to scroll through:
Playlist, Artist, Albums, Genre, Song, etc.
Then press the ENT key (9) to enter the file. Use the VOL key
(3) to make any further choices.
Note: you must press the ENT key (9) each time you want to
select a file or a folder.
Hints for Using your iPod
In iPod mode:
- the "play/pause" function is available.
- the "casual reproduction" (RDM) function is not available.
- pressing the RPT ("repeat") key will cause the current track
to be repeated; pressing the "search" (2) key will cause the track
to be played from the beginning.
iPod connection
The connector is compatible with most iPod models and also
functions as a battery charger for the iPod itself.
Note: it is compatible with the iPhone 3G/3GS model.
- Open Docking Station door (A).
- Center iPod over Docking Station Interface Port, then gently
press downward as shown (B). DO NOT FORCE!
- Close Docking Station door as shown (C), then press firmly on
door directly above door release latch (15) until you hear an
audible "click".
WARNING
• Never install or remove iPod while hands are wet or
while sitting partially immersed or fully immersed in spa!
• Never leave iPod in Docking Station when spa is not is
use to prevent damage from outdoor elements!
• Never spray Docking Station with pressurized water
hose for any reason! Damage to iPod or spa stereo
system caused by water intrusion is not covered under
the manufacturer warranty!
• Damage to Docking Station port or iPod due to excessive
force or improper alignment during installation or remo-
val from Docking Station is not covered under warranty.

Connecting Your MP3 Player
Use the input indicated by AUX.
Setting Up The MP3 Player for Use
Select preferred song/album/playlist prior to plugging in MP3
player and start playback.
Press "Mode Button" on stereo receiver until the LCD display
reads "AUX".
