After the suitable inflation pressure has been reached, the pump stops, the
measurement signals are displayed and the heart icon flashes.
This curve shows each heart beat activity. Movement artifacts (excessive
movement) would become visible by large deviations within the curve.
A long beep sounds when the measurement has
been completed. The systolic and diastolic blood
pressure and pulse rate appear in the display.
The measurement reading remains on the display
for approximately 30 seconds. If no button is
pressed during the 30-second period the
instrument switches itself off in order to preserve
the batteries.
When the unit is set to MAM, it means the
Microlife Averaging Mode Technology
has been engaged and three separate
measurements take place as
explained under section 5.4.
