6. Tubing Care
Supplies needed:
• Mild dish soap
• Clean dish towel
• Clean sink or bowl
• Drinking quality water
• Damp (not wet cloth)
Parts needed:
• Tubing
• Symphony
pump
®
• Membrane cap
• Protective membrane

Remove tubing, protective
membrane, and membrane cap.
Clean following steps in section 4.

care item intended for use by a
single user only and should not
be shared between users.

Caution
• Do not store wet or damp parts as mold
may develop.
• If tubing becomes moldy, discontinue
use and replace tubing. Contact Medela
Customer Service at customer.service@
medela.com or call 1-800-435-8316.
• Inspect tubing after each pumping
session.
Note
Only wash tubing if condensation or
milk is present.

Turn off breastpump.

Rinse tubing in cool water to
remove breastmilk.

Unplug breastpump from
power source.

• Wash tubing in warm soapy water.
• Rinse tubing with clear water.
• Hang to air dry or shake out any
drops of water from the tubing
and let the pump run with tubing
attached for 1-2 minutes until dry.
