3.3 Peripheral modules

The central control unit can be adapted to the wide range
of requirements by means of peripheral modules. Periph
eral modules establish the connection for the process.
Sensors and actuators are, for example, connected via
digital modules and analogue modules. Fieldbus modules
establish the connection to control systems. The following
