Warnings and Limitations
• The RA20-1 roof anchor is designed for
roof-top installations on fully sheathed
roofs comprised of wood members. Do
not install on unsupported roof struc-
tures such as eaves or gable overhangs.
Do not install on facia boards.
• The RA20-1 roof anchor must be installed
at least 2 ft. (0.6m) from any roof edge.
• Due to the fatiguing of the screws, it is
recommended that eight (8) new #12,
2-½" (63.5mm) long, type A, zinc-plated,
steel pan head screws be used each time
the anchor is installed. Roof anchor must
be inspected before each installation.
• The RA20-1 roof anchor must be used in
conjunction with a shock absorber that
limits forces to 900 lbf. (4kN) or less.
• Maximum capacity is 310 lbs. (140.6kg),
including body weight, clothing and
tools.
Installation
1. Locate and mark solid roof members/support
structures (i.e., studs, joists, rafters, trusses,
etc.) under roof sheathing at the location
where the roof anchor will be installed.
2. Refer to Fig. 2 for proper setup.
3. Install the RA20-1 roof anchor with eight (8)
#12 2-½" (63.5mm) long screws (four on
each side).
WARNING
Use all eight (8) #12 2-½" (63.5mm) long
screws to attach the RA20-1 roof anchor.
All eight screws must pass through the
sheathing and into a support structure.
If this warning is not followed, the an-
chorage connection will be weakened
and serious injury or death could occur
in the event of a fall.
Connection to the RA20-1 roof anchor
must only be made with a locking cara-
biner. DO NOT use snap hooks.
3.3 RA25-1
Warnings and Limitations
• The RA25-1 roof anchor is designed for
flat or pitched (0-12/12) roof-top installa-
tions on partially or fully sheathed roofs
comprised of wood members.

• It is recommended that a minimum of
twelve (12) new 16d nails OR twelve (12)
new #8 2-½" (63.5mm) or longer screws
be used each time the anchor is installed.
Roof anchor must be inspected before
each installation.
• Maximum capacity is 420 lbs. (190.5kg),
including body weight, clothing and tools,
when used as part of a fall arrest system
that limits forces to 1,800 lbf (8kN).
Installation
1. Locate and mark solid roof members/support
structures (i.e., studs, joists, rafters, trusses,
etc.) under roof sheathing at the location
where the roof anchor will be installed.
2. Refer to Fig. 3a (flat roof installation) or 3b
(pitched roof installation) for proper setup.
3. Install the RA25-1 roof anchor with a mini-
mum twelve (12) new 16d nails OR twelve
(12) new #8 2-½" (63.5mm) or longer screws
(six on each side) secured into a wood sup-
port member through the middle row of holes
on the anchor. (Note: Outer holes on the
anchor may be used for additional fasteners;
however, all center row holes must be used
for the minimum six fasteners per side.)
WARNING
Use all twelve (12) 16d nails OR all
twelve (12) #8 2-½" (63.5mm) screws to
attach the RA25-1 roof anchor. All nails/
screws must pass through the sheath-
ing and into a support structure. If this
warning is not followed, the anchorage
connection will be weakened and seri-
ous injury or death could occur in the
event of a fall.
Attach to the D-ring only with a locking
snap hook, locking carabiner, or other
Honeywell-approved connector or con-
necting device.
