Painting the sensors
- Paint the sensors in the same colour as the vehicle (recommended paint coating thickness
max. 100 μm). When painting the sensors, proceed in accordance with the instructions and
recommendations from the paint manufacturer (sensor material - metal + EPDM).
- Remove the painted sensors from the jig after the paint has dried. Dispose of the jig as
EN
separated waste.
- Remove the plastic sleeve from the sensor and use a suitable method to remove the
residual paint from the rubber around the sensor surface (e.g. scrape).
- Place the new sleeve from the set (F) on the sensor. Adjust all of the sensors in this way.
Dispose of the removed sleeves with the separated waste.

Drilling holes diameter 8 mm
- The points for drilling the holes for the parking sensors are prepressed in the bumper as
standard (a circle in a rectangle).
- Mark the centre of the circle with a suitable felt pen. At this marked point, drill a hole with a
diameter of 3 mm. Then enlarge the hole to 8 mm. Use this method to drill all three holes.
- 7 -
Drilling holes diameter 18 mm
- Use the cutting tool BEA 000 001 (a stepped drill bit, if required) to drill the holes (diameter
18 mm) in the bumper.
Note. When using a stepped drill bit, you must first drill the holes from
the outside of the bumper. Complete the holes from the inside. Remove
any burr and clean the holes.

Positioning the parking sensors
- Arrange the parking sensors according to their colour: Outside – blue; Centre – black.
Note. The sensors must not be mixed up.

Pulling through the lines for the parking sensors
- Remove the seal plugs from the left-hand side (when viewed in the direction of travel) in
the vehicle's cover panel. Pull the parking sensor lines through the hole and carefully insert
the feedthrough (D), which is an integral part of the parking sensor's wiring harness, into
the hole.
