Unscrew position nut;
If necessary, insert the new pick–up;
«
To keep the spheres in position, use a little of oil
grease;
Screw the nut until you cannot turn it manually:
Manually: lock the nut making a half turn with the
«
key;
«
With a dynamometric key, apply a 4 n/m strength;
Keep the Allen key and fix the locking nut;
Mount again the shaft inside the machine;
Reconnect the engine.
In order to check that the reparation has been success-
ful, check the tensions again and go on making a new
calibration of the machine.
8.4.3
A2 e A3
These values always refer to the tension detected by
the pick-ups, but in this case it is enlarged and filtered
by the board.
During the checking phase we don't care about these
electric signals because they are just necessary to cal-
culate the unbalance.
8.4.4
A5
Signal of the potentiometer of the distance.
The potentiometer that we use is a multiturn potenti-
ometer which means that the shaft must make more
than a single turn to go to the other side of the stroke.
In order to check the correct functioning of the poten-
tiometer, pull out the gauge and check that during the
stroke the value does not get blocked.
NOTES FOR THE ASSISTANCE:
You need to check the values of the potentiometers
when you insert the measures and the machine shows
unacceptable values and when the problem persists
even after the calibration.
Defect
The value is blocked ei-
ther at the end of the scale
or between 0 and 40.

Correction
+
Check that the cable is
properly connected.
+
Substitute the connec-
tion cable (code 654085).
+
Substitute the potenti-
ometer (code 654107).

The value is blocked be-
tween 100 and 1000.
The value starts from
ex.600 and blocks at
the end of the scale.
After substituting the potentiometer or after loosing the
locking screw, follow the instructions before moving on
to the calibration.
Procedure of positioning the distance potentiometer:
Remove the carter without disconnecting the board;
Start the machine;
Enter the test menu:
«
Press "SET" until the notice "TST" appears and
then press "MM/INCH";
«
press "SET" until the notice "A0" appears";
«
press + DISTANCE until the notice "A5" appears;
Keep the value of the board shown and unblock the
screw on the locknut (A);
Now keep the gauge in rest and turn the potentiom-
eter (B) as far as the value of 200 ± 50;
Block the locking screw;
Check the correct functioning during the stroke;
Close the machine;
Proceed with the calibration of gauges (chapter 7)
8.4.5
A7
Signal of the diameter potentiometer.
In order to check the correct functioning of the potenti-
ometer, turn the gauge and verify that during the entire
stroke the value is not blocked and does not touch zero.
NOTES FOR THE ASSISTANCE:
You need to check the values of the potentiometers
when you insert the measures and the machine shows
unacceptable values and when the problem persists
even after the calibration.
!
NOTE: if, by chance, the nut looses and the potenti-
ometer disconnects from the shaft, the machine will
no longer read any measure because the carriage of
the potentiometer remains at the end of the stroke.
