Unpack the Mower
1. Cut all four corners of the box from top to bottom.
2. Remove all packing materials from the mower.
3. Locate and identify the items included with the mower:
• Mulching plug (A, Figure 1 - installed)
• Grass bag (B)
• Battery charger (C)
• Side discharge deflector (D)
• Starter insert (E)
• Operator's manual (F)

Raise the Handle Assembly
1. Loosen, but do not remove, the knobs (A, Figure 2) on
both sides of the upper handle.
2. Unfold the upper handle so that it is aligned with the
lower handle, and tighten the upper knobs.
3. Turn the knobs (B) on both sides of the lower handle
1/4 turn to retract the locking pins.
4. Raise the handle assembly, aligning it with one of the
three sets of holes in the handle bracket (most users
prefer the middle position), and return the knobs to the
locked position.
Set Up the Starter Rope Handle
1. Squeeze the blade control (A, Figure 3) against the
drive control (B).
NOTE: The blade control and drive control can be operated
from either side.
2. Pull the starter rope handle (C) out of the engine to the
rope guide (D). Hook the starter rope into the rope guide
(it might be a tight fit).
