Mattress Firmness Adjustment

When adjusting the patients resting position (e.g. from Fowlers position to supine) it may be necessary to
adjust the firmness setting.
1. Press the firmness button on the Home screen to enter the Firmness screen.
2. The firmness is adjusted by pressing the arrows up or down.
3. Perform a hand check to verify sufficient support.
4. Slide your hand flat between the mattress foam base and the cushions to verify a 2.5 cm to 4 cm
clearance.

Bedpan Replacement

1. Press the pulsation button on the Home screen to enter the Pulsation Control screen.
2. Press the ON / OFF button to switch pulsation off.
3. Lower the side rail.
4. Position the bedpan parallel to the patients buttocks.
5. Turn the patient towards the opposite side rail.
6. Position the bedpan underneath the patient by pushing the bedpan down into the mattress.
7. Gently roll the patient onto the bedpan keeping one hand on the bedpan.
8. Raise the side rail.
9. Raise the head of the bed to a comfortable height for the patient.

Bedpan Removal

1. Lower the head of the bed to a flat position.
2. Lower the closest side rail.
3. Grasp the bedpan firmly with one hand and gently roll the patient to the opposite side.
4. Grasp the bedpan with both hands, push down into the mattress and slide out.
5. Center the patient on the mattress.
6. Raise the side rail.
7. Press the ON / OFF button to switch pulsation on.
