No Smoking in Bed

Smoking in bed can be dangerous. To avoid the risk of fire, smoking in bed should never be allowed.

Therapy Unit

Only use a grounded power receptacle and the power cable supplied with the TheraKair Visio
Therapy Unit. The power cable should be positioned to avoid a tripping hazard and / or damage
to the cable. ArjoHuntleigh recommends placing the cable under the bed frame and attaching it
to a mains wall socket by the head of the bed. The system should never be operated with a worn
or damaged power cable. Should the power cable be found to be worn or damaged, contact
ArjoHuntleigh or an ArjoHuntleigh authorized representative for a replacement.
Only use replacement fuses that have the same specified rating. Using fuses with higher ratings
could result in damage or injury.
The therapy unit is a precision electronic product. Use care when handling or transporting.
Dropping or other sudden impacts may result in damage to the therapy unit.
Do not open the therapy unit – risk of electrical shock. Do not attempt to repair or service the
therapy unit. Repairs and service should be conducted only by ArjoHuntleigh or an ArjoHuntleigh
authorized representative. If the therapy unit is not functioning properly or has been damaged,
unplug the unit and take it out of service immediately. Contact ArjoHuntleigh or an ArjoHuntleigh
authorized representative for repair and service information.
Do not place any objects or items, such as blankets, on or over the therapy unit.
The air intakes for the TheraKair Visio Therapy Unit are on the back of the unit. To avoid the risk of
blocking these intakes, it is recommended that the unit be mounted on the footboard of a bed
frame. Should the bed not have a suitable footboard, it is recommended that the unit be placed on
a solid stable surface.

Interference

Although the TheraKair Visio Therapy Unit conforms to the intent of IEC 60601-1-2 in relation to
electromagnetic compatibility, all electrical equipment may produce interference. If interference is
suspected, move equipment from sensitive devices or contact the manufacturer. (IEC 60601-1-2. Medical
Electrical Equipment – Part 1: General Requirements for Safety, Amendment No. 2. Collateral Standard:
Electromagnetic Compatibility Requirements and Tests). See the Electromagnetic Emissions Information
section for detailed testing data.

General Protocols

Follow all applicable safety rules and institution protocols concerning patient and caregiver safety.

Disposal

Dispose of the air filter, cushions and mattress cover sheet according to local procedures and regulations.
At the end of useful life, dispose of waste according to the European Community Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) and in compliance with relevant local regulations, or
contact ArjoHuntleigh or an ArjoHuntleigh authorized representative for advice. Improper disposal of any
component may result in regulatory non-compliance.
