Indications

TheraKair Visio MRS is indicated for:

Edema management

Prevention or treatment of up to stage IV pressure ulcers
•
Patients requiring a surface to assist pain management

Contraindications

Patient conditions for which the application of pressure relief therapy on TheraKair Visio MRS is
contraindicated include:

Spinal cord injury
•
Cervical traction

Devices to Which This System May Be Attached

The TheraKair Visio MRS can be fitted to most standard hospital beds.
The TheraKair Visio Therapy Unit can be fitted to the footboard of most hospital beds.

Risks and Precautions

Mattress Replacement

The TheraKair Visio MRS is a mattress replacement system and should never be fitted before first removing
the existing mattress from the bed. Fitting the TheraKair Visio mattress on top of an existing mattress will
raise the patient above the side rails of the bed, placing them at risk of falling out of the bed or becoming
trapped between the mattress and the side rails.

Transfer

Standard precautions should be taken during patient transfer.

Side Rails and Restraints

WARNING: Use or non-use of restraints, including side rails, can be critical to patient safety. Serious or fatal
injury can result from the use (potential entrapment) or non-use (potential patient falls) of side rails or other
restraints. See related Safety Information.
