activating the yellow lever CUT in footswitch, the yellow led (4)-CUT switches on while an acute tone
indicating the function is heard. Power control is made through increase (7) or decrease (3) button located
on front panel. Display (5) indicates the maximum output power of corresponding Blend in watts (see item
3.2). It is important to note that the function indicating led (4)-CUT will only switch on if there is
radiofrequency power in the accessory tip.
ECUT function
ECUT function is composed of waveform of Cut or Blends, provided that the equipment has two different
time periods (time-out period of 750 ms and activation period of 50 ms). That function is especially intended
for endoscopic polypectomy procedures.
ECUT function is applied to Cut and Blend modes. When that function is selected by button (23), the yellow
led (24)-ECUT is switched on. When activating the equipment through the CUT yellow lever on footswitch,
the yellow led (4)-CUT is switched on at the same time that the alternation of a bass tone (during T
and an acute tone (during T
Spray Coagulation Function
To use the spray coagulation function, it is necessary first of all to press buttons (20) and (16) located on
the left side of the front panel to switch on the led (1)-SPRAY. Upon activating the blue lever COAG in
footswitch, led (6)-COAG switches on, while a bass tone indicating the function is heard. Power control is
made through increase (7) or decrease (3) buttons located on front panel. Display (5) indicates the
maximum output power of Spray Coagulation in watts (see item 3.2). It is important to note that the function
indicating led (6) will only switch on if there is radiofrequency power in the accessory tip.
Contact Coagulation Function
To use the contact coagulation function, it is necessary first of all to press buttons (20) and (16) located on
the left side of the front panel to switch on the led (25)-CONTACT. Upon activating the blue lever COAG in
footswitch, led (6)-COAG switches on, while a bass tone indicating the function is heard. Power control is
made through increase (7) or decrease (3) buttons located on front panel. Display (5) indicates the
maximum output power of Contact Coagulation in watts (see item 3.2). It is important to note that the
function indicating led (6) will only switch on if there is radiofrequency power in the accessory tip.
Preparation for Bipolar Surgery
Once the equipment is connected to the mains, follow the steps below to prepare the equipment for bipolar
surgery.
1. Connect the bipolar instrument cable to outlet (14)-BIPOLAR located on the lower front panel.
2. Select Bipolar function through buttons (20) and (16) to switch on led (22).
3. Upon activating the footswitch, on upper front panel led (6)-BIP switches on, while a bass tone indicating
the function is heard. Power control is made through increase (7) or decrease (3) buttons located on
front panel. Display (5) indicates the maximum output power of Bipolar in watts (see item 3.2). It is
important to note that the function indicating led (6) will only switch on if there is radiofrequency power
in the outlet (14)-BIPOLAR.
Digital Power and Function Memory
SS-200E is provided with a resource by which the user, upon having selected the operation mode and
powers to be used in a particular surgical procedure, may memorize them.
1. Set the SS-200E to desired operation functions and powers.
2. Press button (9)-SAVE. Configuration is then memorized.
The memorized configuration may be loaded at any time after activating the electrosurgical unit SS-200E
or during its use by pressing button (8)-RECALL.
A configuration may be temporarily changed without losing the original configuration, and by pressing again
the button RECALL it will be returned to the original configuration.
Upon pressing again the button SAVE the new configuration will override the previous configuration.
Control of Sound Signaling Volume
The sound signaling volume is controlled by button (13) located on the front panel, which affects Cut,
Coagulation, Blend and Bipolar tones; however, for safety reasons, there is no change in tone indicating a
failure in patient plate circuit .
