7.2 – Use with transportation unit
The transportation unit is an optional accessory. Should it have been acquired, put the electrosurgical unit
on its upper portion with its front side turned to the side of front strap of transportation unit. To make removal
easier, the electrosurgical unit is only packed without its mechanical setting by screws.
Always move the transportation unit by pulling its front strap. When transported across places with
protuberances and depressions, place one hand on the electrosurgical unit to ensure a greater safety for
the equipment.
After placing the transportation unit in the desired place, block the wheels to prevent their movement and
prevent the accessories and power cables from being disconnected.
To remove the electrosurgical unit from the transportation unit, always use the actual equipment strap.
To prevent tumbling risks, see item 1.7 of this manual.
If no transportation unit has been acquired, put the electrosurgical unit on an adequate support.
Warning: only move the transportation unit by pulling its strap according to figure below.
7.3 – Power plug
The power cable plug provided with the equipment has 3 pins. The middle round pin should be connected
to ground. If the power socket in your surgical center is different from that provided but has a grounding
system (type Schuko, NEMA 3P, etc.), the plant should be contacted to provide the corresponding power
cable or change the socket for use of cable provided with equipment. Extensions or adapters from 3 to
2 pins without the ground pin should not be used. Periodical inspection of the power cable should be
made to determine any damages to insulation or connectors. To disconnect the plug from the socket,
always pull the plug, not the cable.
7.4 – Grounding
To ensure the safety of both the patient and surgeon, the SS-200E should be properly grounded. The
grounding wire in the power cable is connected to the equipment chassis to prevent the circulation of
dangerous currents from the electrosurgical unit box in case of occurrence of internal electrical fault. If there
is no good grounding system in the place where the equipment will be used, it should be provided for before
the equipment is powered on.
7.5 – Mains voltage
The equipment automatically selects the power according to the mains voltage (127/220 VAC) and
therefore it can be connected to any socket where the mains voltage is between 100 and 240 VAC.
7.6 – Corrective maintenance
During the warranty period, corrective maintenance shall be performed by the factory or any other
authorized technical repair shop under the penalty of loss of warranty, unless WEM expressly authorizes
the client to do that. In such a case, the factory shall provide the necessary information and replacement
parts. Below, a quick inquiry guide is provided, which contains eventual Problems and Solutions related to
the equipment. In case of doubts, contact WEM Technical Assistance, as shown in the note at the end of
Troubleshooting Guide.
WARNING: During the use or when the patient is connected to the equipment, no maintenance service
should be performed
