This section shows you how to set up your answering machine to receive
incoming calls. Before you begin the setup, you must turn on the
answering machine.
• Press the answer off/on button to turn the answering machine on and off. The
new messages/in use indicator turns on when you have new messages.
NOTE: The LCD displays "ANS.ON" or "ANS.OFF" to show the status of the
answering machine.

If you need additional assistance, press the memo button on the base when
you first plug in the answering machine and follow the voice instructions.

Use the volume up or down arrow buttons to adjust the speaker volume to
a comfortable level.

Set the RING SELECT switch on the back of the unit to 3 or 5 rings
depending on the number of times you want the phone to ring before the
machine answers the call.

ECORDING THE
For best results when recording, you should be about 9 inches from the
microphone, and eliminate as much background noise as possible.
1. Make sure the answering machine is ON.
2. Press and hold the announce button. Hold the button down until you
finish the announcement.
3. Begin talking after you hear the beep.
4. Release the button after you finish your announcement.
