Condensing Control Menu
In the Condensation control menu it is possible to edit the parameters relative to
fan (water-air unit), disposal pump or modulating valve (water-water unit)
management. Plus, it is possible to edit the parameters that make it possible to
manage the freecooling versions.
III.1.6.1
Water-air condensing control
The condensing control takes place by activating the fans and modulating their
speed with a 0-10V signal following one of the settable algorithms.
Algorithm to be used for condensing control:
1
- PROPORTIONAL: the fans follow the pressure reading and switch on
based on subsequent thresholds with differential, and modulating the
analogue signal based on a set point with regulation band and cut-off for
switch-off.
- PID (pressure): the fans modulate to maintain a set pressure value
(aiming at cooling performance)
- PID (PRESSURE RATIO): the fans modulate to maintain a set value of
high pressure/low pressure RATIO (aiming at cooling performance)
- PID (MIXED): the fans modulate as in "PID pressure ratio", but go back to
"PID pressure" if the required power exceeds the percentage set.
- POLYNOMIAL (only for Turbocor) the modulation speed is calculated
based on the operating conditions of compressors
Cooling request percentage over which, in mixed PID, the unit switches
2
from control on pressure ratio to control in pressure
PID activation delay in pressure ratio or of the polynomial control after the
3
circuit's start-up stage (initially the control always follows PID on pressure)
The following screens Jf02..Jf07 look different according to what algorithm is used
Proportional regulation
On units with modulating condensation control (FI10), condensation control is
performed by modulating the fan speed with a 0-10V signal based on the
condensation pressure. On the units where the fan management is stepped, the
fans are switched on in sequence according to the condensation pressure. (In the
same way the evaporation control is conducted on the heat pumps when the unit
is in heating or on the EXP versions when the unit is in recovery.)

1
Hysteresis and pressure differential for step 2 start-up
2
Hysteresis and pressure differential for step 3 start-up
3
Hysteresis and pressure differential for step 4 start-up
4
In normal regulation the fans switch on at minimum speed when the pressure
exceeds the set-point and accelerate to maximum regulation speed when the set
differential is exceeded.
To prevent excessive fan noise, this is the maximum speed they may use, until
exceeding an override threshold that takes them to the maximum possible speed.
