I.2.2. RECEPTION AND HANDLING
When receiving your motor pump set, check that the equipment and all you have ordered is in good condition. A pump set should be handled smoothly and without brutality,
having taken care to prepare its place of storage or use beforehand.
II - ASSEMBLY AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Each time you put in service or use the motor pump set, the user should beforehand refer to, read and understand the attached safety instructions and rules
(document n° 33522034301).
II.1 PREPARING TO PUT THE PUMP INTO SERVICE (BEFORE STARTING)
Do not attempt to start the set before carrying out the preparation as described in this manual.
II.1.1 FITTING HOSES (FIGURE B)
- Put the hose coupling 25 in place on the suction sump/coupling 6 of the pump.
- Connect the flexible suction hose on the flexible hose coupling and fasten it with a collar 27.
- Fix the strainer 26 on the other extremity of the flexible suction hose and fasten it with a collar 27.
- Put the flexible hose coupling 25 in place on the discharge sump/coupling 5 of the pump.
- Fit the flexible discharge hose on the flexible hose coupling 25 and fasten it with a collar 27.
II.1.2 ENGINE OIL (FIGURE C)
- Remove the oil filler cap/gauge 34 and wipe it, then put it back in the filler neck without screwing it up.
- Remove it and check the oil level on the gauge. If the level is too low, top up as far as the top of the oil filler neck with recommended oil.
Note: on sets TR2.36H, TR3.60H, XT2.42H and XT3.78H the oil warning system automatically cuts off the engine before the oil level is under the safety limit. However, in order
to prevent an unexpected stop, we recommend that you check the oil regularly.
II.1.3 AIR FILTER (FIGURE D)
- Check the air filter elements for cleanliness and condition, clean or replace if necessary.
II.1.4 FUEL (FIGURES E-Q)
- Sets ST2.36H, ST3.60H, TR2.36H, XT2.42H and XT3.78H: Check the petrol level in the fuel tank 39 and top up if necessary.
- Set ST3.60HK: Check the petrol and kerosene levels in the fuel tanks 39-41 and top up if necessary.
- Check the cleanliness of the fuel filter E1 and Q1.
II.2 PLACE OF OPERATION
- Place the motor pump set on a flat horizontal and sufficiently strong surface so that the set does not dig in.
- The set should not lean more than 10° or 13% in any direction.
- Provide a reserve of fuel and oil close to the set's operating location, whilst respecting a certain safety distance.
- Choose a clean well ventilated place sheltered from the weather.
- Provide good ventilation if using indoors (even if such use is exceptional).
- Install the motor pump set in a place that does not obstruct the passage of people or animals.
- Make sure the motor pump set is stable and cannot move on its own. Do not forget that the flexible suction hose will tend to pull the pump towards the water source during
pumping.
- Place the motor pump set as close as possible to the source of water. The lower the distance between the motor pump set and the surface of the water, the faster will be the
priming and the greater will be the volume of pumped water.
- Completely immerse the strainer in the water.
- If the strainer is obstructed, place it in a bucket or on a bed of stones.
03/2001
- Check the engine oil level before each time your start.
- Use only approved oils.
- Never run the engine with insufficient oil.
Make sure that the coupling seals are in place. Air ente-
ring via the hose or the suction coupling will disturb or
prevent water being sucked.
