Adjusting the automatic
(GIRA – Figure 6/7).
The adjustment of the worktable motion
– takes place via the compressed-air
control box:
If the automatic does not operate as
expected or when the grinding procedure
has to be stopped, immediately push the
automatic "Stop/Emergency OFF" but-
ton (14).
Insert a contact roller (27) that corresponds
with the pipe diameter.
Firstly, adjust the "Grinding depth/depth
stop" adjustment (17) to a reduced grinding
depth so that the work piece does not run
into the grinding belt.
With the crank (18), adjust the vice to the
width of the work piece and clamp the work
piece with the clamping lever (20). Adjust
the grinding angle (29) if required.
Adjust the timer (34) completely to the right
(SHUT).
Working width: Push the automatic "Start"
button (16). Adjust the stops (22) in such a
manner that the pipe does not move beyond
the edges of the grinding belt.
Push the Automatic "Stop/EMERGENCY
OFF" button (14).
Deburring: Adjust the timer (34) in such a
manner that the carriage runs back and forth
2 to 4 times at the end of the work process
before it moves back to the starting position.
Depth stop: Adjust the "Grinding depth/
depth stop" adjustment (17) to the required
grinding depth.
Feed pressure: Adjust the optimal feed pres-
sure/feed with the control valve for feed
pressure adjustment (35).
When the feed pressure is adjusted too high,
the work piece can overheat or the grinding
belt can tear.

Wear safety glasses.
If the automatic does not operate as
expected or when the grinding procedure
has to be stopped, immediately push the
automatic "Stop/Emergency OFF" but-
ton (14).
Adjust the belt tracking.
Adjust the centre height.
Adjust the automatic using a test/trial work
piece.
If required, use a length stop (accessory) for
precise clamping of the work piece.
Position yourself next to the machine and
actuate the automatic "Start" button (16).
During the work procedure, check the cor-
rect function of the automatic and pay atten-
tion if the feed pressure is correct.

Adjust the belt tracking.
Adjust the centre height.
If required, use a length stop (accessory) for
precise clamping of the work piece.
Position yourself next to the machine and
pull the feed lever (37) with your left hand.
Turn the crank (38) with your right hand in
order to move the worktable laterally and to
ensure uniform wear of the grinding belt. In
this, the work piece must not come beyond
the edges of the grinding belt.
Always work with uniform feed pressure.
