5. Alternatively for locally allocated handwheel:
In the "Screens" editor, open the screen to which you want to assign the handwheel locally.
Configure the function "SetTagToHandWheel" on a button or directly in the screen structure.
Select the tag "Status_Control_Element" as "Value".
The value is written to the "Status_Control_Element" tag when you operate the operator control.
The "Control_Element_PLC" tag writes the value of the "Status_Control_Element" tag to the PLC. The "SetValue" system
function has to be configured at the "Status_Control_Element" tag in order for the value to be transferred.
6. Open the properties window of the "Status_Control_Element" tag.
7. Click "Change value" in the properties view of the "Status_Control_Element" tag in the "Events" group.
The "Function list" dialog box opens.
8. Click the first line of the function list.
The list of the system functions available in the project opens.
9. Select the "SetValue" system function from the "Calculation" group.
10. Select the "Control_Element_PLC" tag at "Tag (output)".
11. Select the "Status_Control_Element" tag at "Value".
When communication has been established, the current value in the controller, which may be old, is automatically written
to the "Control_Element_PLC" tag but not to the "Status_Control_Element" tag. The "Auxiliary-Tag" is required so that the
current state of the operator control is transferred to the PLC once on start:
A program in the PLC evaluates the live bit. After the control program has recognized the establishment of
communication, the control program changes the current value of the "Auxiliary-Tag" once. This causes a change in
value. The value change in the "Auxiliary-Tag" triggers execution of the "SetValue" system function. The system function
assigns the value of the "Status_Control_Element" tag to the "Control_Element_PLC" tag again.
12. To configure the system function, open the Properties window of the "Auxiliary-Tag".
13. Click "Change value" in the properties window of the "Auxiliary-Tag" in the "Events" group.
The "Function list" dialog opens.
14. Click on the first line of the function list.
The list of the system functions available in the project opens.
15. Select the "SetValue" system function from the "Calculation" group.
16. Select the "Control_Element_PLC" tag at "Tag (output)".
17. Select the "Status_Control_Element" tag at "Value".
Result
