Requirements for use of the device

The LCU-P programmable safety interface is only permitted to
be used in the context of 2.1 Applications for the device. In
case of any other usage, and in case of modifications to the
device – including during mechanical mounting and installation
– any claims against SICK AG under the guarantee are
rendered void.
2 . 3 General safety instructions and
protection measures
1. The national/international regulations apply for the use /
installation of non-contact safety devices as well as for
commissioning and periodic technical checks, in particular
Machine directive 98/37/EC
Directive on use of equipment 89/655/EEC
Safety regulations as well as
Regulations for the prevention of accidents/rules for
safety.
It is the responsibility of the manufacturers and users of the
machine on which our protection equipment is used to
determine all safety rules and regulations which may apply
with the responsible authorities and to observe these
rules and regulations.
