Definition of terms
Safety instructions
Since the muting function of the LCU-P is used in conjunction
with the FGS safety light curtain, the safety instructions set out
in the Technical Description of the FGS must also be followed.
The following points must be observed in order to ensure
regulation use:
Follow the instructions for electrical connection and
commissioning set out in the operating instructions.
Installation and electrical connection to be carried out only
by qualified personnel with practical technical training and
knowledge of the standard safety regulations.
Testing and commissioning to be carried out by qualified
experts, where stipulated in the applicable directives/
regulations.
The personnel operating the machine protected by the
photoelectric safety switch must be instructed by qualified
experts of the machine operating company prior to
beginning work. The instruction is the responsibility of the
machine operating company.
Prior to initial commissioning the following points must be
observed:
1. The command device (restart or override button) must
be located at a position from which the hazardous area
is visible in its entirety and at which it cannot be
operated from within the hazardous area.
2. Muting sensors must be positioned such that the muting
function cannot be triggered unintentionally by a person
(Fig. 14 and 15).
3. Muting must only be active in the time span in which the
loaded pallet is blocking access to the hazardous area.
4. Muting must be automatic but must not be dependent on
a single electrical signal.
