Applying the Hand/Foot Sensor
M1193T Neonatal Hand/Foot Sensor
For patients weighing 1kg-4kg.
Step
1 Position the sensor over the hand or foot, with Sensor Optics
aligned opposite each other. Hold the sensor in position while
stretching the Strap slightly, not more than 2.5cm (1.0").
2 Press the stretched Strap
against the Slot, thread it
into the Latch, and pull for a
secure fit. If long enough,
thread it through the Second
Latch as well.
3 Plug the sensor cable/connector into the monitoring instrument
(or the instrument's adapter cable if used).
4 Inspect and change the sensor application site periodically. You
may reapply the sensor to the same patient by repeating this pro-
cedure. Clean and disinfect the sensor before applying it to a dif-
ferent patient.
