8 TAKING A READING (continued)
8.2 TAKING A READING: STANDARD MODE

Press and hold the measure softkey for approximately 3 seconds
to switch the gauge on.

Perform the calibration procedure if required - see Section 6
'Calibration' on page en-12.

Place the gauge on the test surface and press the measure
softkey to take a reading . A reading is displayed on screen (for
each geometry selected via Display/Display Geometry - see
Section 4.8 'Geometry Selection' on page en-8).

If the user has chosen to view 'Selected Statistics', 'Run Chart' or 'Bar
Graph' - see Section 4.7 'Setting Up the Reading Display' on page en-7,
pressing the
each individual geometry.
8.3 TAKING A READING: SCAN MODE (T)

Press and hold the measure softkey for approximately 3 seconds
to switch the gauge on.

Perform the calibration procedure if required - see Section 6
'Calibration' on page en-12.

Place the gauge on the test surface, press the measure softkey
twice to begin the scan, slide the gauge across the test surface.

Press the measure softkey again to stop taking readings and
complete the scan.

Repress the measure softkey to continue scanning or press
'Save' to save the scanned readings. The scanned lowest,
average and highest reading will be displayed on screen for each
geometry selected via Display/Display Geometry - see Section
4.8 'Geometry Selection' on page en-8. Press 'Clear' to disregard
the last scan and start again.

If the user has chosen to view 'Selected Statistics', 'Run Chart' or 'Bar
Graph' - see Section 4.7 'Setting Up the Reading Display' on page en-7,
pressing the 8 softkey displays the statistics, run chart or bar graph for
each individual geometry.

The gauge will automatically save the scanned readings without prompting
the user, if enabled via Menu/Measurement Mode/Scan Mode/Auto Save

Readings are taken for all geometries (20° , 60° and 85° , Haze and % Reflectance at 20° , 60° and 85° ) but
only readings for the geometries selected are displayed. The user can change this selection at any time.
Model dependent: Dual and Triple Angle models only.
