1.4 Concluding work and activation of the Park Distance Control system
 Fit all vehicle parts in reverse order.

 Connect the battery.

It must be ensured that the open-circuit voltage of the vehicle battery is at least 12.5 Volts. To maintain the onboard

voltage during the procedure, connect a -VAS590X- battery charger.
The request for the vehicle configuration (SVM code) only occurs once if the procedure and test operation is carried
◆
out without any errors. Unprompted multiple requests may generate error messages and have no effect on the
configuration.
The 5-digit action code for the software update can be retrieved in the Service section "Conversion/retrofitting" in
◆
the InfoNet of VW Commercial Vehicles.
 When the ignition is switched off, connect the vehicle diagnostics tester with ODIS Service to the vehicle
diagnostics socket.
 Switch on the ignition.
 Select the "Start diagnostics" mode and identify the vehicle.
 After querying of the control units, switch to "Special functions", select "Adapt software" and enter the 5-digit action
code for conversion/retrofit actions (see note above).
After the code is entered, the online connection is created and the software update carried out.
 End diagnostics.
All error memory entries are deleted.
 Terminate the connection to the vehicle diagnostics tester.
 Take the vehicle for a test drive and check the functioning of the ParkPilot.

When handing over the vehicle the customer must be informed about the information on the ParkPilot system in the
vehicle instruction manual.
