Pre-heat in the oven to eliminate other contaminants and fixing residue. This is why
a piece to be welded must not be introduced into the Quasar optical
welder if it is still fixed with wax or resin: doing so may damage the welder itself.

Fig. 7: Fix the parts to be welded in the correct position:
use bonding wax, cold resin, cyano-acrylic or another
product that guarantees perfect positioning.
Fig. 8: prepare the refractory-lined welding base,
making sure that the areas near the join are as relieved as
much as possible (we recommend that you use very
small quantities of refractory lining to avoid heat
dispersion).
remove the wax with hot water.
Fig. 9: after checking the welding join to make sure it is
free from any adhesive material carbon residue, apply a
little flux on the parts to be joined together.
It is recommended that you use antioxi-
dant liquid flux with a boric acid base.
For chromes use the appropriate flux.
Fig. 10: apply the solder (also sprinkled with the same
flux) around the joint.
It is recommended that you use round
solder wire as this will adapt to the joint
more readily.
