NOTE:
If in doubt, remeasure the fork length. If the fork is longer than 880 mm,
scope of supply 2 is required (see Figure E).
Preparations
- Remove both forks (see repair manual).
- Remove the shock absorber (see repair manual).
- Remove the original side stand.
Assembly
- Perform a large fork service (see repair manual):
- Disassemble the fork legs.
- Disassemble the cartridge (scope of supply 1).
- Completely remove the cartridge (scope of supply 2)
- Check the fork legs.
- Assemble the cartridge (scope of supply 1).
- Install the cartridge (7) (included). (Scope of supply 2)
- Assemble the fork legs.
NOTE:
When assembling the fork legs, replace the original fork springs with fork
springs (1) (included).
Scope of supply 1 only:
When assembling the cartridge, slide on the bushing (3) (included, see
Figure A).
- Perform a shock absorber service (see repair manual):
- Remove the spring.
- Disassemble the damper.
- Disassemble the piston rod.
- Disassemble the seal ring holder.
- Check the damper.
- Assemble the seal ring holder.
- Assemble the piston rod.
- Assemble the damper.
- Install the spring.
NOTE:
Scope of supply 1 only:
When installing the spring, replace the original spring (9) with spring (6)
(included).
NOTE:
When assembling the piston rod, replace the original rebound bushing (8)
with rebound bushing (2) (included) (see Figure B).
When assembling the shock absorber, slide on the bushing (4) (included) at
position (D).
If a bushing is already present at position (D), remove it and replace it with
the bushing (4) (included).
Final steps
- Mount the side stand (5) (included).
- Mount the shock absorber (see repair manual).
- Mount both forks (see repair manual).
- Slide the fork through the triple clamp by 2 mm more than the standard
distance.
