7 Fitting the Spacer
Fit the spacer between the lock and the valve only
if the lock prevents the valve from opening. (See
section 9.)
8 Donning the Device
Do not pull or stretch the fabric.
Fingernails, sharp jewelry, and the locking pin can
tear the device. Stop using the device if it is torn or
damaged.
Unwanted material can stick to silicone and irritate
skin.
The fabric can collect static electricity.
Before you begin
Fit the valve. (See section 6.)
1. Invert the liner so that its silicone side points externally.
2. Put the distal cap on the distal end of the residual limb.
3. Align the locking pin with the long axis of the residual limb.
4. Roll the liner on the residual limb while releasing any trapped air.
Note: The distal end of the perforated fabric should be just below the patella tendon.
After donning the device, wear it for 10 minutes. If you feels numbness within 10 minutes, do the
following:
1. Doff the device, and wait until normal feeling returns.
2. Don the device again.
3. If you feel numbness again, stop using the device.
