4.3 Mounting and placing the system

Do not cover the vent holes on the Control Unit to prevent overheating of the equipment.
Place the system on a firm and solid surface out of the reach of the patient, at least 1.5 meters away.
Always place the equipment in a way which allows access to the rear panel and especially the main
power socket.
The system is intended for desktop use. But it is possible to insert the system in a rack or mount it below the tabletop as
long as proper air flow through the system is provided. The use of perforated layers or table boards is recommended to
support sufficient airflow in cramped environment.
The system does not have an inbuilt cooling fan to avoid unwanted noise in the measurement environ-
ment. Therefore make sure that the air flow from the bottom to the top side of the Contro Unit is
unimpeded, especially in the docked situation.
Besides the cooling through air-flow, the metallic housing will be used to cool the instrument by
dissipating the heat to the environment. The housing can get hot up to 40 °C (104 °F), depending on
the particular environmental temperature.

rated boards is recommended.
