Inspection and Maintenance Log (Table 2) at the back of this manual.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Figure 1 illustrates the 3M™ DBI-SALA™ Vacuum Anchor. The Vacuum Anchor is a single point anchorage connector for a
personal fall arrest system designed to be temporarily attached to a smooth horizontal or vertical surface.
Figure 2 illustrates components of the Vacuum Anchor. See Table 1 for Component Specifications. The Vacuum Anchor is
comprised of two pads that form the Base (A) with a center support structure Housing (B) and a D-Ring for the attachment of a
Fall Arrest System (FAS). The Vacuum Anchor is secured in place by the connection of compressed air inserted through into the
compressed air fitting on the Housing.

1 Person with a combined weight (clothing, tools, etc.) of no more than 140 kg (310 lb.).
Fall Arrest: The structure to which the Anchorage Connector is attached must sustain static loads
Anchorage:
applied in the directions permitted by the Fall Arrest System of at least: 12 kN (2700 lbf) with
certification of a Qualified Person
Each anchorage point location must be capable of the following values:

OSHA 1926.502, 1910.140
Only one Fall Arrest System may be attached to an individual Vacuum Anchor at a time.

Compressed Air
All Vacuum Anchor models require 80-150 psi (550-1035 kPa). External compressed air or nitrogen
