Your printer has three instruction templates (see figures) to
help you when you are using the printer:
1. on the inside of the top cover, below the paper support,
illustrating the paper removal (if a paper jam occurs) and
insertion procedures.
2. on the upper side of the front cover, showing a number
of the key and light indicator functions.
3. on the inside of the front cover, illustrating the print
head removal and insertion procedures.
Charging or Recharging Battery Packs
Both types of battery pack can be recharged while in the
printer; the Ni-Cd battery pack has a recharge time of
approximately 6 hours, the Ni-MH battery pack, 12 hours.
With the printer connected to the electrical power supply
using the AC/DC adapter and switched on, battery
recharging can be started:
automatically, for both Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery
packs, following a "low battery" indication (POWER
light indicator flashing).
During recharging, the POWER and ON LINE light
indicators remain lit and steady.
No "fully charged" indication is given (the POWER and
ON LINE light indicators remain on).
When the printer receives an operating command,
recharging will automatically be suspended, to be
resumed as soon as the printer is idle again.
Should a power failure occur during a recharge
operation, recharging will resume as soon as power is
restored.
If the FORM FEED and ON LINE keys are pressed
simultaneously, recharging will stop and the printer will
be set ON LINE.
manually (by pressing POWER for more than 4
seconds), both types of battery pack (Ni-Cd and Ni-MH)
will be recharged as long as the printer is idle.
During recharging, the light indicators on the operator
panel flash in sequence.
When the battery pack is completely recharged, the light
indicators stop flashing and the printer returns ON LINE.
When the printer receives an operating command,
recharging will automatically be suspended, to be
resumed as soon as the printer is idle again.
Should a power failure occur during a recharge
operation, recharging will resume as soon as power is
restored, and for the balance of the recharge time.
If the FORM FEED and ON LINE keys are pressed
simultaneously, recharging will stop and the printer will
be set ON LINE.
Take care not to continually recharge or overcharge the
battery pack, as this will adversely affect its operating
life.
Whenever the printer is switched on, a partial battery
recharge is executed (provided it is connected, via the
AC/DC adapter, to the electrical power supply).
