Replace the hydraulic oil after 300 working hours or every year:
WARNING
Used oil must be collected and disposed of in an environmentally safe way.
Caution
Use hydraulic oil with the correct specifications and make sure no dirt or dust enters the
hydraulic tank to prevent damage to the pump and tools.
Remove the orange hydraulic oil filler cap.
Position a suitable container under the hydraulic oil drain plug.
Remove the hydraulic oil drain plug. Collect all of the old hydraulic oil in a container.
Install the hydraulic oil drain plug and tighten it firmly.
If the oil is severely contaminated: release the pump flange and clean the tank and oil filters
Fill the tank through the filler opening with hydraulic oil.
Check the level of the hydraulic oil.
Vent the pump after replacing the oil:
-
Leave the filler cap open during this operation.
-
Connect a hydraulic tool.
-
Start the engine.
-
Let the oil flow through the hydraulic tool for two minutes.
Install the hydraulic oil filler cap and tighten it firmly.
8.4.3
Hydraulic couplers
Check the couplers for damage. Have a Holmatro Certified Technician replace damaged couplers.
Clean the couplers with luke warm water and a mild soap solution. Dry the couplers.
Lubricate the end of the coupler with hydraulic oil, or by injecting WD-40.
Lubricate the locking ring by injecting WD-40 via the back under the locking ring.
Connect the couplers. The couplers must lock automatically.
Check the locking by pulling carefully on the hoses. The couplers must not disconnect.
Pull the locking ring straight back. The couplers disconnect.
Connect the couplers and then disconnect them again a few times. This improves the internal
lubrication of the locking system.
8.4.4
Dust caps
Check the dust caps for damage. Replace damaged dust caps.
Clean the dust caps with running water. Dry the dust cap and treat it with preservative oil.

Hydraulic hoses
Clean the hoses with luke warm water and a mild soap solution. Dry the hoses
Check the hoses for damage and leaking. Replace a hose if it leaks, has kinks, the reinforced cover
is visible or it has blisters or bulges higher than 1 mm. In case of doubt always contact the Holmatro
dealer who can assess the seriousness of the damage.
Replace the hose no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture, regardless of its use and
external appearance. The date of manufacture is printed on a test code label on the hose, the first 4
digits of the test code specify the date of manufacture of the hose (yymm*****).
